Why Attend?
Do you ever wonder why your players or your child simply kick the ball
away every time it comes to them? It’s simple, really.
It’s a lack of confidence and/or relationship with the ball.
If they don’t believe they can do whatever they wish with it,
they’re not going to want it in fear of losing it. Kids see
kicking it away as an “easy way out.” Good ball
skills are one of the most important traits of a great soccer player.
The more touches players get on the ball working on specific skills,
the more confidence they will have when they receive it in a game.
Skills nights are open to all CYS players who wish to learn
some new tricks and get some extra touches on the ball. Coaches and
parents are also welcome to come and even participate in the activities
if they wish, pending the approval of your kids of course!
Various stations will be set up focusing on different skills at each.
Our Director of Player Development will head the sessions along with
CYS Certified Skill Instructors.
**Important** If weather is not accommodating, skills training will be cancelled. Every effort will be made to post a cancellation notice on the home page of our website. Our Director will only stay at the field 5 minutes past start time to steer families back home in this event.
